The project will focus on six henge monuments under the care of English Heritage, and will explore the ways that prehistoric monuments in England have been represented in visual art, literature, and aural compositions over the last 300 years, to gain a better understanding of their role in the history of archaeological thought, art history, popular culture, and in terms of the historical context of public heritage.
